One (1) megawatt peak shaving engine driven generator installed by Atmos Power Systems and leased to UCAR Carbon Company in Columbia, Tennessee. The power plant is completely automated, which starts and stops itself depending on the facility's electrical demand. The unit provides 480 volt power to the adjacent building with excess power diverted to the UCAR substation (transformed up to 13,200 volts) satisfying other electric needs within the facility.

All preventative and routine maintenance is provided by a local industrial engine company contracted by Atmos Power Systems. Remote monitoring logs daily operations, which provides historical information for monthly billing.
